Project Overview
Goldie Walker is an independent romance author who approached me in need of a consistent brand identity. As a self published author with her primary method of promotion being social media, she needed cohesive brand guidelines as well as visual assets to use across platforms. Her vision for the project was warm, nostalgic, and reminiscent of 70s and 80s romance book covers. I worked to turn that vision into a strong visual system.
Goals
The target demographic was broad—ranging from women in their mid 20s to mid 50s—so I had to develop an identity that would catch the eye of younger demographics without coming off as too immature to older ones. The result was a vintage, textured design style, with a subtle touch of playfulness and modernity.
